Yoga in Baja

yoga
This photo is of some of us (I'm in the back in green pants) doing yoga in the courtyard between two of the thatched cottages that we stayed in.

I think the best place that we did yoga on the trip was actually on a platform in front of an abandoned, half-built house on one end of the beach. The pelicans were floating in one area of the water, and we did yoga while watching the sun come up, and you could really breathe deep.

Then, all of a sudden, a boat of fisherman came in where the pelicans were, and scooped up a net full of fish. The pelicans scattered and then resettled in another spot nearby. It was quite magical.

Breathe deep. OMMMMMMM.

kayaking

Oh, and after working hard on this kayaking excursion..in which the wind got so strong that one of my friends got blown completely off course...and we didn't know where she was for a few heartstopping minutes...then, all I wanted to do was nap in my hammock.

Baja photos

Here are a few more photos from the trip. (More stories to come.) Click on the photos to see larger versions.

For the first part of the trip, we stayed in this small village of Cabo Pulmo, part of a national park. We had thatched cottages -- and this hammock was super comfy.

We hiked to the waterfall that I showed in the earlier posting.

And we swam in this incredibly cold lake that the waterfall fed into. There were some crazy (or brave) tourists who jumped from about 40 feet up into the waterfall. Meanwhile, we relaxed in the water...and did a little yoga.

Back from Baja

Arch at Cabo San Lucas
Hi everyone,

I made it back from Baja today. Originally, I was supposed to get back last night but we missed our connecting flight so I spent the night in Houston. Not a big deal as the airline paid for the extra night.

I'll be blogging about my trip, when I'm a bit more rested. Suffice it to say that it was a wonderful vacation, despite all the mosquito bites that I got. I also think I've had a enough exposure to the sun to last me a while. Now I just have to get used to not being in sunny, dry, 95 degree weather!

waterfall

Here are two photos from my trip. Everyone took so many digital photos that I didn't take nearly as many photos as I thought I would. One is of the arch in Cabo San Lucas, and the other is of a waterfall area that we hiked to and swam in the pool there. It was breathtaking.

whew..i made it thru the week

Thank goodness I did my major packing last weekend. I'm puttering around doing small backpack packing and I'm so spaced out, there's no way I could have coherently packed my main bag. I barely remember what's in there.

Although Monday and Tuesday were a bit more mellow, by Wednesday, the intensity level at work was going back up again as I geered up for a big meeting on Friday in NJ. It went very, very well...with some minor aggravation at Kinko's. But that's a story for another time.

I leave for the airport in, let's see, about 4 1/2 hours and then I'm going to enjoy my time in Baja :)

I'll take photos and have lots of stories for you when I get back. Yay!
