So I've found a new sport to play. Softball! I've never really played much before, and never belonged to a team. But I found on yahoo groups a team of alumni from my university, and I met up with them last night. We played against Duke. It was really fun, even though we lost. We were in Central Park on the Great Lawn in one of the ball fields.
It was a fast game -- a lot of people showed up so I didn't play every inning but enough. I made contact with the ball twice :) I didn't hit very far, but it worked. I got an RBI (even though I was tagged out, I helped score the runner), and then the second time up, I hit the ball, advanced another runner, and then one of their infielders overthrew the ball to first so I quickly ran to 2nd. So I got applauded for my alert base running skills :) I also played catcher for a few innings.
There's another game on Sunday evening and I think I will show up for that too. But first, I booked a massage tomorrow in K-town at a 24 hour spa -- in the daytime it's just for women. No, really, it's a legitimate spa!
