After yesterday's official office holiday party, in which I consumed lots of guacamole, chips, enchiladas, and a poor excuse for crepes (the Croatian palanchinkas are far superior)...I decided that I needed to go work out.
So I went to my favorite dance exercise class, only my favorite teacher, who combines hip hop moves and exercise was on vacation. So what did I get instead -- a fairly enthusiastic guy who had us doing a dance that combined jazzy walks, ballet moves, mambo, a shimmy and jump from a Gap ad (for skinny jeans). All that was missing were the jazz hands! I sort of faked my way through it because the dance was so FAST, but it took me most of the hour to remember to pivot and turn the correct way, and I kept mamboing in the opposite direction. What pressure! I really missed the regular dance class. But on the other hand, I do know how to walk like a Bob Fosse dancer...now I just need jazz hands...and a black bowler hat.

You can make paella with the saffron! I also took a dance class at NYSC and it was fun but you do feel very self conscious dancing with that wrap around window so everyone can see you.
