why can't we invent a vaccine against colds?

This stinks, all week, I've been fighting a small cold. And the trouble with a small cold, which starts with a scratchy throat and graduates to a stuffed head, is that it still makes you feel terrible. After forcing myself to work Mon-Wed, I decided that today, I wouldn't be a martyr. I canceled all my meetings, and stayed home, in bed. Then I wondered why I couldn't win the lottery and have servants, because then I wouldn't have to get out of bed, walk to a store 3 blocks away, and get decongestant nasal spray, and pick up quarters for laundry. That was exhausting. But having nasal spray was better than sleeping with my mouth open. And having clean sheets was important too.

My appetite has been off -- I really can't notice much taste -- except when I eat my decadent brownies that I baked last weekend. It's good to know that my cold hasn't killed my ability to enjoy chocolate :)

Chongstein arrived tonight, from Miami. I was seriously envious that she went to a nice warm beach environment. We went out to Dehli Palace where I found a new appetite for Indian food - and cleared my sinuses too! Not a bad way to end the evening.
