wordsmith

Last night, I wrote my first speech -- I'm giving it at Toastmasters on Thursday -- I'm excited about it. I hope people like it. I don't want to be boring. I taped myself practicing the speech and it's about 5-6 minutes, which is what I want it to be. It's called an icebreaker speech and you're supposed to talk about yourself. So I organized it around 3 things and opened with this line. "If you want to know me, I have to tell you about my family. I come from a long line of people who like to travel, eat and talk...a lot."

And if that wasn't enough writing, I wrote another 1500+word story today about education. I think it's pretty good, except for my intro -- it's fine but not exciting. I was really in the zone writing -- but I was pretty tight and tensed up by the end of the day. Managed to get unkinked with a new excercise class I tried called total body conditioning.

Tomorrow, I have to write another story, probably around the same length. It's kind of a self imposed deadline, but I really want to get it done before the weekend. Because on Friday, I have another interview to do and I don't want to get too far behind in stories.

I'm off to bed -- I can't write any more.
