Whoo hoo! It's going to be an Agassi-Federer finale tomorrow. Granted, I was kind of hoping for James Blake to make it to the final, but this is going to be magical!
I saw the Rafael Nadal - Scoville Jenkins match last week in person - and that was such a fun match. First of all, two of the best sounding names for tennis players. How can you not root for a player from Hot-lanta with a first name that's also the heat index measure for hot peppers! I got to see that match from several different angles. Because it started late at night, at midnight, everyone from the upper deck was invited to come on down to the seats near center court. It was a mad scramble. I couldn't believe how bright everything seemed closer to court. I can see why Arthur Ashe stadium is such a grand stage to perform on. I don't know how the other major grand slams are, but the crowd is so incredible, so intense, so New York and in your face about cheering. It's pretty rare to get shushed with a "quiet please" the way they do at Wimbledon or the French Open. I wouldn't want it any other way.
And now, off to watch the Clijsters-Pierce final. I don't know who to pull for.
