the luxury of doing nothing

What did you do this weekend? Er, nothing really. Yes, it might come as a shock to everyone, but I hardly spoke to anyone, and it was just perfect.

I read two novels, cleared out the kitchen and bathroom so the pesticide guy could do his thing, borrowed my friend's car and explored the neighborhood (finding Home Depot and Bed Bath & Beyond was a real coup), and I watched about 4 baseball games and the part of the Masters golf tournament. So while it wasn't exactly "nothing" and some were chores, it was all at my own pace -- and I just really enjoyed having no social obligations.

If I'm not driving to FL to see the folks, that's what I'm usually doing on the weekends - absolutely nothing! Seriously, with 12 hour days about the norm here, I have no energy to do much on the weekends. I'm waaay beyond the whole "getting drunk" and maybe even clubbing. I'm at the point where I'd rather just sit home and vegetate watching a movie or reading a book.
