t-shirt randomness

I've recently noticed that there seem to be a lot more people wearing t-shirts with messages on them. And, I'm not sure whether they're wearing them ironically, or if they just don't have any idea what's on them, or if they're just in a really bad mood.

I saw a girl wearing a shirt that said "Litmus" on it. Does anyone remember litmus tests from chemistry class? I had visions of those little strips that you had to stick into chemicals to test the PH balance. Now I wish I had gone up to her to ask her what she meant.

And what is with people wearing shirts with curse words? For example, this one woman, very dressed up and styled with a flat pinstriped cap, heavy sunglasses, chic pants, and then her shirt said "F$%@ you you f$%^in f$%@" only of course, it was spelled out. Was she in a really bad mood? I don't know, but as soon as I saw her, I was.

It made me miss the cool, random, nonsensical t-shirts that you could buy in Asia, especially in Japan. Those were way more fun.
