Amazing, I went on a hike this Sunday in Harriman State Park (about 30 miles north of the city) with a hiking club...and I didn't get bitten by bugs! I don't think that's ever happened before :)
I couldn't ask for better weather! Perfectly dry, clear skies, beautiful. The hike was the perfect mix of light, intermediate, with a few challenging spots, but nothing so crazy. We had a great lunch break in the middle and some of us (including me) swam in the lake. A great break, even though there was a lot of silt in the water which looked kind of gross on the skin when getting out.
My only complaint, my water bottles were too heavy for my bag. My shoulders were in knots afterwards.
