Even though I don't think I'll get up the nerve to try it again (my tailbone winces in memory of falling a few years ago), I have been hooked to the TV, watching the Winter Olympics snowboarders compete in the half pipe and last night's snowboard-cross competition, which is like watching Nascar on snow. Just absolutely phenomenal. It's probably why I'm so tired because there's just so much to enjoy.
Men's figure skating was on last night too. I think my favorited skater was Savoie, who came in much lower on the scores -- but he had the most lyrical skating I've seen. The Russian skate who won was strong, and impressive, but honestly, I was unimpressed by his creativity. The commentators had it right -- fancy, powerful jumps, some cool footwork, and then just a lot of random waving of hands that's supposed to be artistic. But not really a complete program.
Speaking of winter, I should be heading out to camelback in the poconos tomorrow for my first skiing in 2 years. Can't wait. I hope it's not too cold.
