hawaii beauty

Here are some snaps from my recent trip to the land of Aloha.

sandy beach My first full day in Honolulu, John and Li took me on a short tour of the southeastern part of Oahu, not far from where they live. This first one was taken of Sandy Beach. The waves there are supposed to be quite treacherous.

seascape KC and I took a drive the morning before our friend's wedding and had fun exploring the nearby coves. I think this was across from a beach cove. The color is just so intense here. I wish I knew what kind of plants these were -- they looked like some kind of succulents.

The day after the wedding, KC and I drove around the island to the North Shore. This time of year, the surf is great and the Banzai Pipeline was featuring one of the Triple Crown events - the rip curl surf championships. surfboard promo at the pipeline

We saw the men's first round - it was a tough day for getting some good waves. We saw some of the greatest surfers out there, including Kelly Slater (who I hear is now dating Leo's ex, Gisele). It was so nice and mellow out there, we had good "seats" in the sand, and I enjoyed hearing the commentator talk about the surfing, otherwise I don't think I'd really know what was going on.
