restaurants really shouldn't get cute with bathroom names

Woman, Man, Unisex. That's really all you need to know, and whatever universal symbols. So even though I'm good with languages, occasionally I get thrown off by theme restaurants or ethnic restaurants that post signs like damen and damas, senor and senora, or pictures that, well, are not always clear.

So imagine the challenge last night at Tao, a very chic asian-fusion restaurant that has a very large Buddha displayed in the main dining area. I'd had a cosmo and a glass of wine (and some water, and snacks...because I am sensible), and headed to the ladies room. The problem: bathrooms marked yin and yang. For the life of me, I couldn't remember whether yin stood for female (dark) vs. light for male, yang. I stood for what felt like an eternity, but probably only 5 seconds, and fortunately someone came out so I could go to the right room.
