eating blissfully

Sometimes you have a meal so spectacular, your soul just wants to sing with joy.

Have you ever had a meal that just makes you so blissfully happy? The weather was rotten yesterday, and it still is today. Cold, windy rain – ridiculously so humid that in the trains, I was sweating but outside I would freeze. But I met a friend for dinner at this wonderful Sardinian restaurant called Assenzio in the East Village.

Cheese, honey and Sardinian flat bread & fried zucchini and calamari for appetizer; then lemon trenette (pasta) with fresh sardines and oranges; and some other kind of pasta with wild boar ragu. And a lovely bottle of red Sardinian wine.

Sheer heaven on a plate.
